Oakwood House is a warm, welcoming and family-focused children’s home providing a safe and nurturing environment for young people aged 8-18. Our experienced and dedicated team is committed to creating a place where every child feels valued, listened to and supported as they develop the confidence and skills needed for the future.
Life at Oakwood House is centred around stability, routine and positive relationships. Children are encouraged to take an active role in everyday living, from helping to prepare meals and personalise their bedrooms to contributing ideas during weekly house meetings. These regular discussions ensure every young person has a voice in shaping activities, routines and life within the home.
Our staff carefully plan a varied programme of recreational, educational and community-based activities that reflect each child’s interests, abilities and aspirations. Whether it’s horse riding, football, swimming, bowling, youth clubs, performing arts, scouting, judo, army cadets, cinema trips, arts and crafts or visits to local attractions, we aim to provide opportunities that are both enjoyable and enriching.
