Join our team
We are looking for caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Support Workers to join our Children’s Residential Home in Torquay, Torbay.
Our home provides a safe, supportive and therapeutic environment for children and young people who have experienced trauma, adversity or placement breakdown. As part of our experienced team, you’ll help young people build confidence, develop positive relationships and achieve their full potential through structured support, education and meaningful daily experiences.

As a Support Worker, you will:
- Provide therapeutic support
Deliver trauma-informed care that supports young people through both everyday life and challenging situations, promoting positive outcomes and emotional wellbeing. - Safeguard young people
Ensure the safety and welfare of every child by following safeguarding procedures, understanding risk assessments and supporting individual care plans. - Build positive relationships
Develop trusting, professional relationships with young people, providing guidance, encouragement and consistency while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. - Encourage independence
Support young people to participate in education, hobbies, life skills, community activities and social opportunities that build confidence, resilience and independence. - Create a welcoming home
Help maintain a clean, safe and nurturing home environment where young people feel comfortable, respected and supported. - Keep accurate records
Maintain clear, accurate records and communicate effectively with colleagues, managers and external professionals to ensure the highest standard of care.
About the role
This is a permanent position working on a rolling rota, including long days, sleep-in shifts, weekends and bank holidays.
Applicants must:
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Be eligible to work in the UK.
- Be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS check (provided by DCI Care).
Previous experience working within children’s residential care, supported living or a similar care environment is desirable but not essential, as full training and ongoing development will be provided.
